artosim 29.04.07—17.04.21

artosim is a project I started during my PhD, which I did in astrophysics, more precisely in "Numerical Astrophysics". I was always touched by the many different shapes and forms which are hidden in the results of numerical simulations in physics. Despite observations of distant galaxies and even larger objects, like galaxy clusters and the cosmic web, which show the tremendous beauty of nature, numerical simulations helps us to see objects in a different way. They enable us to observe literally the yet unobservable. In this project ArtoSim (Art of Simualtion) all images are created from raw data of complex numerical simulations. State of the art visualization techniques are used to create images from huge raw datasets, which are then postprocessed by image manipulation programs.
